For the first time in quite some time I've gotten back to playing video games. I don't know why I stopped in the first place, but it's been awesome once again. I hooked up my N64, SNES AND NES and was playing them for a few hours. It brings back quite a bit of memories. Plus it's pretty cool to know that I still got it when I can pwn my opponents in WWF No Mercy.

This month I've gotta get my senior portrait taken for the school yearbook. Personally I don't wanna take it as that means I have to buy a suit, buy new shoes, etc. It is good though since that means now that I am finally the thing I've worked so hard for since 1994. I'm finally a senior. It can't better than that.

I've been watching a lot of movies too these past few days. I finally got to see the Johnny Cash bio-pic Walk The Line. One of my personal favorite flicks I've watched this year. I would've loved to see the film cover his period of re-emergence in popularity from 1994 until 2003 when he had passed on. I've become a fan of his over the past year and most of the music of his that I have listened to are mainly his American Recordings albums.

So, I've been doing a lot of stuff over the summer. I'm getting ready for the big day next month when I can proudly say that I'm a senior. I'm scared a little bit but I know that I can make it if I just try.

Man, I sound like one of those little wusses who post emo-esque crap like this on their MySpaces... I better stop...

Anyway, I have tickets to go to an ECW show this summer. I can't wait. I'm going to be at a show which features the always contraversal "Mr. RVD 4:20" Rob Van Dam. I really want to meet him as he was one of my personal favorites when I first started watching back in 2001. I'm gonna be going with my friend who is basically Kurt Angle's #1 fan. Sure I've already said it before, but I can't wait. I'll probably be reviewing the house show (And ECW as a whole) after I see it for The Dojo.

Well, I better bail out for now. I'll probably be posting some new stuff in the next few days.

Hey all, I've finally decided to return to posting to this blog after such a long hiatus. How long has it been? It seems so long ago. Well, hopefully now I'm back. I've been doing a lot of things with my time while I was gone. I was studying my ass off for both the SATs and regents this year. Both of which I did well on. Now guess what? I'M AN F'N SENIOR! HOORAH! Can't get better than that can it?

I've also been doing a lot of shit outside of school. One of those was going to a local independent wrestling show that took place on June 1st. I was able to meet so many of my favorite wrestlers that I've either seen on TV or on the internet (Thanks YouTube!). Here is a list of each of the matches that occured on the card.
* next to wrestler means I got to meet them prior to the show starting.

All around it was a pretty good show. The only disappointing thing was Tommy Dreamer no-showed. He was originally going to be the one who faced DeVito (Or as you ECW on Sci-Fi fans may remember as the Fake Priest or Macho Libre) in a hardcore match. It kind of sucked since he was not able to appear due to WWE commitments, yet he was able to make it to the show the next night in Conneticut. I was disappointed mainly because I had made a logo for the new ECW show on Sci-Fi that I thought he'd get a kick out of. It was an idea by my friend Chris which had it say "SCI F'N FI". I was able to show former ECW almuni Tony DeVito the sign, and he really dug it.

It's been quite some time yet again since I've posted on this ol' blog. Lately I've been busy with so much stuff going on with my life. It's mainly been school. I've been working hard so I can fix up my grades. Currently I'm trying to get into a college that deals with all things technology related. It feels weird though as if I'm rushing myself out into the real world. I miss the old innocent days of when I was a kid. Not being rushed into getting a job and leaving what you're accustomed to.

Today was my fifth day of being a 11th grader. Pretty nice feeling. The classes can be challenging, but I believe in myself that I can manage to do good. People have been telling me that 11th grade is one of the best grades to be in. So far most of them are right. I'm just lucky that I get to be in a lunch where I can talk to my friends. To me, having friends is a pretty important thing.

Warning: In this posting I will be using language I don't normally use (At least on thia blog...). If you are easily offended by swear words, please skip this blog post and go to the next. You have been warned.

Why has our society changed so much? Why do we always desire to view things like blood and gore? Sure there are plenty of people who don't, but there is just about the same size of people who enjoy it. A few minutes ago, I was on my way home with my mother when he had to stop on the highway. Hundreds of cars were piled up due to an accident about less than half a mile away. We then went through the detour. As we are driving through, I see a few cars stop and the people get out to see what happened. So I nonchalantly ignored this thinking "Oh, maybe they just want to see what happened, and then they'll go on". So we continued our way to the gas station. Five minutes later, drive back through where the cars were stoping to see 20-30+ cars stoping to view the carnage. I was somewhat disgusted, but still I ignored it like I did before. I then noticed that some people where actually viewing this as a photo oppurtunity. Yes, some people actually thought that someone mangled in a car accident was actually fucking exciting to look at. At person's life could have very well ended, and all of these assholes love it! I then saw a few jerk-offs videotaping the accident. Some of you may be saying, "TDK, maybe it was a TV news crew", and to that I say bullshit. These were the same kind of people who would be videotaping little Timmy's birthday party. These assholes probably popped in another tape an quickly started filming. Imagine if they did'nt switch the tape which contained Timmy's birthday party. That would be some pretty fucked up shit, eh? Iamgine seeing little Timmy smiling while he's opening up his present when all of a sudden it cuts to seeing a mangled man in a car wreck. That would'nt just scare the kid, it would fucking scar him for life.

Here's another thing that's been really pissing me off lately. The parents who accuse video games for being to violent for their kids. These are the parents who don't watch what their kids are doing. These are the mothers who just sit at home, drink wine, and read Redbook. These are the fathers who immediatly go to the bar following a long day at work and then come home late and beat up their kids and wife. They're parents who won't bother to spend five minutes with their kids.

What do you expect with society? It'll never change. No matter what anyone says. People think that if they snap their fingers, that everything will be just peachy. And again, to that I say bullshit. The human mind is a hard thing to comprehend. No one can understand it.

Sorry about the lack of updates. I've been quite busy with my life (HA! I HAVE ONE?). I managed to pass my regents, and I am now heading to the 11th grade. Awesome, is'nt it? I've been reading some really good books to past the time this summer. One of those is a by famous B-Movie actor Bruce Campbell (Of Evil Dead fame) The title of it is Make Love! The Bruce Campbell Way. It's an interesting novel about him finally being in a A-Movie with A-List actors Richard Gere (The first, and hopefully last time you'll see his name on this blog) and Renee Zellweger.

I just got back from the movie. In all fairness, it really lived up to the hype. If you are going to see the movie, and don't want to read any spoilers, then you might want to stop reading...

*SPOILERS*
The evolution of Anakin into Vader is one of the darkest things I've witnessed in a movie. His actions such as killing the young Jedi and choking Padame we're quite vicious. To be honest however, it really did help show how he changed from the innocent child, into an evil tyrant. One thing that made me cringe however was the aftermath of the fight between Anakin & Obi-Wan. It was sad to see him lose his arm, and legs. The same when he was set on fire.

Overalll, I would have to say that this was by far one of the best Star Wars movies ever. At least it was better than Episodes 1 & 2.

Today I finally went to see The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy. I thought it was a pretty good adaptation of the book. Hopefully Touchstone will greenlight a sequel to it. Honestly though, I'm happy that they included my favorite part with the sperm whale and the flower pot of petunias.

While I was at the theater to see THG2TG, I was able to snag myself a ticket to see Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith on opening day. I really hope that this lives up to all the hype going around it. Kevin Smith, who was very critical of the first two prequels got to see a screening of the movie a few days ago. He says that this is actually really good. I've heard that the movie goes into a pretty dark mood. That's probably why it's the only Star Wars movie with a PG-13 rating.

This weekend I picked up the movie Cannibal! The Musical. It's a pretty funny movie. I've been quoting the movie the whole weekend. I found a site that has all the songs from it for download. Now I have Cannibal! The Musical on my iPod.

I'm trying to grow a mustache. I've got a little stubble, but that's about it. Funny, I can easily grow sideburns, but I can grow a mustache.

I just began reading Douglas Adam's book The Restaurant at the End of the Universe. Excellent stuff. Hopefully this will be adapted into a movie if The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy does well.

Speaking of the HHG2TG movie, I'm suprised that they only gave the character Zaphod one head. Oh well, I really don't mind. Plus the guy who plays him really fits the character.

And before I end this entry, I'd like to pass along a link to all of you. It is a petition for WWE to re-hire Matt Hardy. Even if you don't like pro wrestling, I insist that you sign this petition. Matt is a extremely gifted athlete, and it would be a shame if his talents are wasted.

Tragically, Mitch Hedberg passed away this week. Mitch was a beloved member of the Comedy Central family, and we join fans in our sadness. He will be missed.

Born and raised in the St. Paul area, Mitch Hedberg decided to start his own comedy career in South Florida. Not so much for the comedy scene, but for the sun. His landlord would drive him up and down the coast from club to club in his pick-up truck where Mitch would lie down in the back to avoid any of the negative conversations his landlord would try to have with him.

Mitch developed his style in Florida and decided to try it out on different audiences. He moved to Seattle and toured throughout the Pacific Northwest honing his act in front of the new audiences. While in Los Angeles, Mitch booked his first television appearance on MTV's "Comikaze" by walking into the MTV offices and personally pitching himself to the talent coordinator. Many cable shows followed including A&E's "Comedy on the Road", Comedy Central's "Comedy Product", and NBC's "Comedy Showcase" hosted by Louie Anderson.

In 1996, Mitch got his break with an invitation to perform at the prestigious Just for Laughs Montreal International Comedy Festival. His performances secured him a deal with a studio and a spot on "The Late Show with David Letterman." Letterman enjoyed the set so much that he actually quoted one of Mitch's bits later in the show.

With the money from his development deal, Mitch wrote, directed and stars in his own independent feature called "Los Enchiladas!" which premiered at Sundance. His film is a comedy about a drifter who gets a job at a Mexican chain restaurant in middle America, the relationships between the restaurant employees, and the deterioration of the business' hierarchy over a 24-hour period. While editing the film in Seattle, Mitch entered the 1997 Seattle Comedy Competition and won the grand prize of three thousand dollars. He immediately handed the check over to his editor and finished the film.

On February 5, 1999 Mitch made his fifth appearance on "The Late Night Show with David Letterman." Last July he was invited to return to the comedy festival "Just for Laughs" where he stole the attention of the industry, audiences, and press alike. His stand-out performances secured a development deal with FOX to create his own sitcom and prompted TIME magazine to include him as one of the next generation of comedy stars and The Hollywood Reporter to headline their review of the Festival, "Laughs are Loudest for Hedberg." Mitch also recently completed a reality show pilot for MTV.

Mitch was one of the few comedians that would cheer me up. Wheter I was already in a good mood, or I was in a bad mood. Mitch to me was one of my comic idols. I always loved his view on our world. To me, he was a comedic genius.

To me, Mitch Hedberg was not just another person on TV who told jokes. To me, Mitch Hedberg was a friend.

I'll miss you Mitch.

Sunday I finally got an iPod. Damn, this thing is cool. I already have 844 songs on it. It's pretty damn swanky. Plus I even have a leather case for it. I was trying to find one of those iSkins for it, but they did'nt have any in black. Oh well, I'll probably look for it in the next few weeks.

I've been watching the new I Love 90's: Part Deux lately on VH1. I'm suprised that they were talking about Kevin Smith's movies Clerks and Mallrats. Hopefully they'll talk about Chasing Amy for 1997 and Dogma for 1999.

Today I went to Best Buy to pick myself up a new game. As I'm standing on the line, a man asks me if I like Family Guy (Since I was wearing a Quagmire T-Shirt). I told him yes. Then he told me that he does a few voices on Family Guy. To my suprise it was none other than Johnny Brennan (One half of the Jerky Boys/voice of Mort Goldman on Family Guy)! Me and him then proceded to talk for about ten minutes. He then asked me for my mailing address so he can send me some free things. I tell you though, he was a real class act. The worst part, I almost did'nt talk to him. I was about to go to my mom's car. If I had went to the car, I would'nt have told you all this great story...

Ol' Dirty Bastard, a founding member of the Wu-Tang Clan, died of unknown causes on Saturday (November 13) in New York, according to his spokesperson. He was 35.

Sources close to the rapper (whose real name was Russell Tyrone Jones) said he had been complaining of chest pains earlier in the day, although no further details are available as of yet. ODB had been scheduled to perform with Wu-Tang at a concert in New Jersey on Friday night, but missed the show.

Another source reported that ODB arrived in the New York area on a flight from Denver at 10:30 p.m. Friday. He reportedly went to a Manhattan studio (having missed the concert), and collapsed within an hour of arriving there.

A statement was released Saturday evening by ODB's mother, Cherry Jones. "This evening, I received a phone call that is every mother's worst dream," she said. "My son, Russell Jones, passed away. To the public, he was known as Ol' Dirty Bastard, but to me, he was known as Rusty, the kindest, most generous soul on earth. I appreciate all the support and prayers that I have received. Russell was more than a rapper, he was a loving father, brother, uncle, and most of all, son."

Damon Dash, who signed ODB to Roc-A-Fella Records last fall, also released a statement. "All of us in the Roc-A-Fella family are shocked and saddened by the sudden and tragic death or our brother and friend," Dash said. "Russell inspired all of us with his spirit, wit and tremendous heart. He will be missed dearly, and our thoughts, prayers and deepest condolences go out to his wonderful family. The world has lost a great talent, but we mourn the loss of our friend."

Dirty, easily the most eccentric of the nine Wu-Tang Clan rappers (if not in all of hip-hop), showed promise as a solo artist, but was hindered by a long series of clashes with the law, which ranged from shoplifting to making terrorist threats.

The rapper, who also went by several unusual aliases (including Osirus, Joe Bannanas [sic], Dirt McGirt, Dirt Dog, Unique Ason and Big Baby Jesus), was released from prison last year. He had served a two-year term for parole violation and drug charges.

Damn has this weekend gone by fast. Want to know what made it go by fast? Playing the new WWE game SmackDown! VS RAW for the PlayStation 2. From what I've played so far, it's a pretty good game. I'm kind of disappointed that they never included the character Eugene. I'm also kind of disappointed with the Create-A-Wrestler mode. I swear, the cheekbones are so pointy, they look like they injected 50 cans of Botox into their faces. Regardless of the flaws I just mentioned, it's still a pretty good game.

Upside:
Legends have their proper theme music
WWE Challenge Mode keeps the game more interesting
Commentary teams for each respective brand (Cole and Tazz for SmackDown!, and Ross and Lawler for RAW
BRET FREAKIN' HART IS IN THE GAME!
Great in-game music by real licensed artists

Downside:
Commentary can get boring
Small roster (NO EUGENE!)
Not that many legends

Final Score: 4/5

In addition to picking up SDVR, I also picked up Grand Theft Auto Advance for the Game Boy Advance. Wow... For a GBA game, it's pretty kick arse! Basically, it goes back to the classic "top-view" from the first three GTA games (1, 2, and London 1969). So far, the game play experience is fantastic. The controls for the game are incredibly smooth and really responsive. For such a small cartridge, it really packs quite a punch! Plus, this looks like this may just be the GBA's "Must-Own" app. Kudos to Rockstar Games and Digital Eclipse for making such a great game.

Upside:
Great controls
Nice background music

Downside:
There are a few glitches (Start a mission while in a car, and you can't move the car or get out)

Final Score: 5/5

GTA: SA (PS2), Halo 2 (Xbox), and Doom 3 (Xbox) are the next games I'll be reviewing whenever I get them.

Looks like something I've always wanted to do in a long time has finally happened yesterday. I met my all-time favorite wrestler... Mick Foley. He was a true class act. Him and me took a picture together, and signed my copy of Tietam Brown. Mick commented and said "Wow, one of the few Foley novel fans". He then asked me what I thought of the book, to which I responded "I thought it was pretty good". What was really sad was that I was at a loss for words. What can I say? I'm a hardcore Foley mark!

Along with Foley, I was able to meet both D'Lo Brown and Al Snow. D'Lo commented me by saying that I should be a football player. Me and Al Snow did a pretty funny photo in which we are looking off into the sky.

Lately I've been playing my NES a lot for the past few days. I honestly love the simplicity of video games back then. You just pick up the controller and start playing. Heck, I could play a game like Marble Madness for hours. All people care about lately with video games is graphics. Sure, the game may look pretty, but can it play well? I hate it when people are biased and say that a game like Super Mario Brothers sucks because the graphics don't look that good. Remember kids, graphics aren't everything.

I really can't wait for Tuesday. I reserved myself a copy of the Star Wars Trilogy. I really hope the DVDs are true to the hype. Mostly because I have'nt watch the (Original) Star Wars films for a few years. Sure, Greedo may shoot first in this version, but at least I'll have my precious Star Wars movies on DVD!

Johnny Ramone died in his sleep yesterday afternoon (September 15th) after a five-year fight with prostate cancer; the Ramones guitarist and leader was fifty-five.

Ramone (born John Cummings) kept his sickness private for four years, and news of it only became public in June when he lapsed into a coma for a week and was hospitalized. At the time, bandmate Marky Ramone, who joined the group in 1977 after drummer Tommy Ramone quit, expressed shock at Johnny's disease. "John never smoked cigarettes, and he wasn't a heavy drinker," Marky told Rolling Stone. "He was always into his health. That's why I can't understand it."

The Ramones have lost three members in the last five years, with Johnny's passing following singer Joey Ramone's death in 2001 from lymphatic cancer and bassist Dee Dee Ramone's death from a drug overdose the following year.

Founded in Queens, New York, in 1974, the Ramones are widely cited as the original punk rock band. With a uniform no more complicated than ripped jeans and black leather jackets, the band made simple into an art form, writing about everything from boredom to sniffing glue in aggressive two-minute bursts as clever as they were economical.

Underappreciated in their time, the Ramones were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2002 and have enjoyed something of a retroactive renaissance as musicians from U2's Bono to shock rocker Rob Zombie stepped forward to herald the band's influence. And the band's impact has transcended rock & roll, as sports arenas -- including Yankee Stadium, where Johnny's beloved Yankees play -- routinely blare the rallying cry "Hey ho, let's go" from their debut album's opener "Blitzkrieg Bop."

This past Sunday, a cast of all-star rockers, including the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Eddie Vedder, Tim Armstrong of Rancid and Henry Rollins, marked the thirtieth anniversary of the Ramones' first show with a cancer research benefit in Los Angeles. (Another benefit, featuring Blondie and the Strokes, is set to take place in New York on Johnny's birthday, October 8th.) Johnny had planned to attend the Los Angeles show, but had taken a recent turn for the worse. Host Rob Zombie called him from stage. "It was heartbreaking to call him," Zombie said after the show. "I knew he really wanted to be here."

The Ramones' tumultuous career is documented in the new film End of the Century: The Ramones Story. "It's a very dark movie," Johnny told Rolling Stone in 2002. "It's accurate, but it left me disturbed as I was watching it. I'm basically portrayed as a tyrannical monster, Dee Dee is on drugs, Mark is an alcoholic and Joey is an alcoholic and drug addict at various times."

After the band's final split in 1996, Johnny put down his guitar for good. "I just didn't want to go up there and perform at a level below what the kids had grown to expect," he said. "Having fond memories to me was more important. If you're a baseball player twenty-two years into your career, you're not performing at the same level you were ten years into your career. I'm not going to fool myself and think I'm as good. Even if we were still good, I wanted to get out with some dignity."

This really sucks. I was looking forward to watching Conan Friday on
Comedy Central. Sadly Conan is no longer on Comedy Central. Instead,
it's replaced with reruns of "Reno 9/11!" and "Trigger
Happy TV". While I don't mind Trigger Happy TV being on
Comedy Central, it just could be at another time. Maybe they could
replace one of the many airings of MadTV with Trigger
Happy TV. No, they have to take Late Night away from me.
I myself am never able to watch Conan when it's on at 12:37 AM. I'm a
student. I have school. I need good grades. Looks like the only time I
can watch Conan is when it's on Fridays. Oh well. No use crying over

Heh... I just came back from my local EBGames. I found something pretty cool. Back in the early 90's, Nintendo started re-releasing some of their older games like Super Mario Brothers, Zelda, etc. Well, the Big N decided to re-release Zelda II - Link's Adventure. When I walked over to the NES games, I saw a copy of a re-released Zelda II in it's original box. Plus it was the rare "Gray Cartridge" re-release. Guess how much it was? Five dollars and ninety-nine cents. Pretty good deal, eh? Plus it came it it's orignial manual. Boy, that was a lucky find.

LOS ANGELES - Kevin Smith is making another convenience store run.

The writer-director of "Dogma," "Chasing Amy" and "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back" told the Associated Press on Friday that he has begun work on a sequel to "Clerks," his homemade indie classic from 1994.

That $27,000 movie, shot at night in a store where Smith worked, chronicled the adventures of Dante and Randal, two guys who talk about life, death, sex and movies while working at neighboring stores.

The sequel picks up 10 years later.

"It's about what happens when that lazy, 20-something malaise lasts into your 30s. Those dudes are kind of still mired, not in that same exact situation, but in a place where it's time to actually grow up and do something more than just sit around and dissect pop culture and talk about sex," Smith said during an interview at his Hollywood office. "It's: What happened to these dudes?"

A new 10th anniversary DVD of "Clerks" debuts Sept. 7, and Smith said working on that three-disc set inspired him to write about what became of those characters.

The sequel — titled "The Passion of the Clerks" — is set to begin shooting in January. Miramax Films, which turned the original into a cult-hit after buying it at the Sundance Film Festival (news - web sites), plans to distribute the follow-up.

"It's funny, it's very raw, insanely foul-mouthed. In many ways it's the antithesis of 'Jersey Girl,'" Smith said, referring to his recent PG-13 comedy with Ben Affleck (news) as the widowed father of a little girl.

Smith is also writing the screenplay for a movie version of "The Green Hornet," but no longer thinks he will direct it. The "Clerks" movie has moved to the top of his to-do list.

He said he called Jeff Anderson, who played the combative video-store worker Randal, and Brian O'Halloran, who was the besieged-by-strangeness convenience store employee Dante, to run the idea by them first.

"Jeff was actually very protective of 'Clerks,'" Smith said. "Jeff was like, 'Are you sure you want to do this? That movie means a lot to people and do you want to go back?' I thought about it honestly, and it would seem chicken to not give it a shot just because I'm afraid of (messing) with the first film."

So far, he said he has gotten only positive responses from the people who have read the script, so he decided to move forward with it. Both O'Halloran and Anderson are signed on, and Jason Mewes, will return as stoner Jay, the "hetero life-mate" of Smith's stoic Silent Bob.

"I'm sure there will be naysayers who say, 'Oh my God, it's an opportunistic grab at a buck,' but it's not. We're doing it for nothing," Smith said. "We're going to do it insanely inexpensively. The budget will be somewhere between 250 grand and $5 million."

The original was shot pre-dawn, and most of the actors worked for free and then went straight to their day-jobs with little or no sleep.

"This time around we'll afford ourselves the luxury of nice 12-hour days," Smith said. "And people can get paid."

Family Guy Marathon A Success (Yeah, I can't believe it either)

Fox was banking on Family Guy to take down the Olympics. While it didn't do quite that well, the animated show, enjoyed by people of all ages, managed to get almost 5 million viewers and finish second in the ratings for Fox's mini-marathon Wednesday night.

That's just a finger compared to NBC's man handling of the ratings, bringing in almost 30 million viewers to watch Olympic repeats.

The excitement of having Family Guy return to Fox, which cancelled the series about two years ago, was subdued, partly because reruns have been airing on other networks for months. However, this is a sign of things to come for Fox and Family Guy.

The network will start airing new episodes next year, perhaps as soon as spring as some reports have said.

The show picked up somewhat of a cult following when it was released on DVD, prompting Fox to reconsider their decision.

That's really suprising. I wonder how the ratings will be for the marathon on the 25th. Maybe there is hope for Family Guy when it returns with new episodes next year. Hopefully it will replace crap like The Simple Life.
